This time of year, Bechdolt's Orchard in Lower Saucon Township changes its focus from harvesting berries and sweet corn from the fields to reaping apples from its trees. More than a dozen different types of apples hang from the branches in the orchard, and you'll be able to taste-test all of them at Peddler's Village General Store during the Apple Festival on November 5th and 6th.
The autumnal festival celebrates local apples, which are in their prime in the fall months. Peddler's Village visitors will be able to grab baskets of their favorite local varieties at the store, or head to Cock 'n Bull for hot apple fritters. Apple dumplings will be on the menu at Lucky Cupcake Company's Village Bakery, and Skip's Candy Corner promises candy and caramel apples. In addition to the apple treats, the festival also will play host to more than 70 artisans selling everything from handmade birdhouses to unique jewelry.
Admission and parking at Apple Festival are free.
