You probably associate a time of harvest and abundance with summer, but when it comes to apple orchards, the bounty comes around October. Apples are in their prime during the fall months, which is why the Apple Festival at Peddler's Village is slated for November 5th and 6th, right at the peak of the harvest.
Apple butter, applesauce, apple pies—they're all coming to the Village General Store. In fact, the apple pies are so popular that you'll have to reserve one ahead of time or risk walking away emptyhanded when they sell out (as they do every year). The shops scattered around Peddler's Village will dish out apple-inspired treats, too. Head to Lucky's Cupcake Company's Village Bakery to dig into an apple dumpling or enjoy apple fritters at Cock 'n Bull. You can also pick up candy and caramel apples at Skip's Candy Corner. In addition to the sweet treats, the Apple Festival also hosts more than 70 artisans selling everything from handcrafted jewelry to homemade maple syrup.
Admission and parking are free, and the festival runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
